Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75101, is rated high enough (8,000 pounds GTW with WD). The limiting factor is how much your vehicle can tow. Check your owners manual to see what the towing capacity of your vehicle is and do not exceed it. I have included a link to the instructions for this hitch below.
When towing that much weight, I recommend using a brake controller if you do not already have one. One of our most popular models is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885-3020-P. If you have a factory installed tow package, you would just need to plug in and mount the brake controller.
If you have factory 4-Way, you will need to add Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185. If you have no trailer connector, you will need Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, and Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118329. I have included FAQs on brake controller wiring below.
