According to our tire guru here at etrailer, there are three main cause issues that could be at play here.

First, excessive wear on the outside of the tire means the trailer could have an alignment issue. This can also be caused by worn suspension parts and overloading. Taking your trailer to alignment shop that can align trailers would how to fix this. Excessive wear on both the inside and outside of the tire means the tires are under-inflated. Lastly, excessive wear on the inside of the tire could mean the trailer is overloaded.
