Question:

The SHP2061 makes no indication to not use it with a trailer. Can the SHP2061 be used with a trailer? Also, my trailer hitch receiver outside dia is almost 2 3/4 inches. Will the SHP2061 work if my receiver is a little wider than 2 5/8 inches?

When towing a trailer you can use the Let's Go Aero anti-rattle hitch lock, # SHP2061.

You can use # SHP2061 even if the pin does not go all the way through the shank. The clip is just a fail safe. Provided the pin is properly tightened down then the lock washer will provide tension to keep the bolt from backing out. The pin, if threaded all the way in, measures 4-1/2 inches from the outside of one pin hole to the tip of the pin. It is 3-3/4 inches to the notch for the clip so it would work.

Another option is an anti-rattle locking hitch pin, # SHP2040-XL, which will provide anti-rattle, a lock, and the span is 3-1/2 inches which is more than enough for your 2-3/4 inch wide hitch.
