Question:
i just purchased a camper when towing it home the controller would engage the brakes on the camper climbing through the numbers but then would cut out and sc would show then it would climb through the numbers and repeat the sc code. i replaced the plug on the camper and it still did the same thing. so i replaced the plug on my truck and it still did the same thing. i then hooked the camper to a different vehicle and had no problems. with my truck when i am going 2-10mph it does not do it. it only seems to do it at highway speeds like it is a breaker that is overheating and resetting is this in the controller ? 2000 chevy silverado 1500 and a 1997 prowler26 h travel trailer

The SC error code on the Valley Journey HD brake controller indicates that there is a short circuit situation. The trailer brake circuit (blue wire on the brake controller) may be shorted to ground.
To determine where the problem is you will need to sever the blue brake output circuit wire and using a circuit tester like a # PT89ZR test for voltage on the circuit from the brake controller using the manual override lever. If the SC code goes away then you know the problem lies somewhere in the wiring between the brake controller and the brake assemblies of your trailer. If the SC code stays then you know the problem is in the controller and should be replaced.
I have included a couple of links to the right on testing and troubleshooting brake controllers for you.
