Purpose of Extra Loop on Winch Strap Used on Fulton Single Speed F142007 Hand Winch

What is the extra strap that is attached to the t900 winch? Thx

The extra loop is referred to as a hand saver loop. It simply provides a safer place to grab the end of the strap for when you're pulling out slack from the winch drum. The snap hooks can get torn up a little, and could be rough on your fingers if you were using the hook pull a length of strap off the winch drum. It's a nice feature to have, as I've personally shredded my fingers on the hooks before.
