Question:

I put the clip on the magnet on a 7 in dexter and the brake would not work there were never any clip on the magnets when I took it apart the magnets were worn a lot with not that much use I think it does need the clips how do they go on ?

The 7 inch Dexter Brake Assemblies like the part # 23-48 do use clips to attach the magnets to the assemblies. I went and pulled one from our warehouse and found that in order to attach the magnet to the arm you would need to slide the magnet over the arm and then press the clip over the arm as well. I attached a picture that shows how the two go together.

The replacement magnet kit part # BP01-068 has this clip.
