Could the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 be Used Every Day
Updated 08/04/2014 | Published 08/02/2014 >
Question:
I am looking at this product as a way to avoid the extra work of cranking up a loaded trailer when coupling or decoupling from the tow vehicle. Since the entire GTW is a bit over 11,000 pounds I am not worried about capacity. I am however concerned about the number of duty cycles this product is designed for. I would be looking at perhaps 350+ cycles per year. This would be lifting the trailer off its manual landing gear and lowering it onto the hitch, then reversing that process at the end of the day. Is this product designed for that many cycles/year?

The Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 that you referenced should do very well for you. This product wasn't just designed for occasional use. As long as you are under the capacity of the jack and the battery of your trailer is fully charged you should have no problem using this jack set for many years.
This jack also has a 5 year limited warranty.
