How To Install Brake Controller In 2026 Phaeton RV PowerGlide Chassis

Updated 10/12/2026 | Published 10/11/2026

Question:

We have seen you supporting so many You Tubers. Thank you. I want to install a trailer brake controller on a 2026 Phaeton on a powerglide chasis. What do I need and how do I do it? Thank you.

Hey David.

Thanks for the kind words, we try our best!

For your 2026 Tiffin Phaeton on the PowerGlide chassis, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller - Dash Knob - Off-Road Mode - Up to 3 Axles - Proportional # RED44FR

The Redarc is a proportional controller with a small adjustment knob that mounts neatly in your dash, keeping the main unit hidden.

The good news is that previous PowerGlide chassis have typically came with labeled brake controller wires underneath the driver's-side dash. If your 2026 has the same setup, you can simply connect the Redarc harness to those wires for power, ground, brake signal, and trailer brake output. If not, you'll need to run some wires for each function and maybe even use a multimeter/voltmeter to be sure.

Does your Phaeton already have a 7-way trailer connector at the rear?

Thank you very much. It does have the seven pin in back. I greatly appreciate the help. I will get it ordered.
