Question:
Hello, Needing advice on a weight distribution hitch. The tow vehicle is a 2026 F350 Ford with a 2.5 inch receiver and I am towing a Grand Design Imagine 2600rb travel trailer. From what I am reading the tongue weight is 750 to 1000 pounds. Thank you

Hi Jerry!
From what I could find, the max tongue weight (also referred to as hitch weight) for a Grand Design Imagine 2600RB should be right at 754 pounds. With that said, to get a weight distribution system working the best, you want your loaded tongue weight to fall as close to the middle of the systems capacities as possible. So here are the two I recommend for you:
Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # EQ37100ET
Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control - No Shank - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # EQ37101ET
**will need the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch - 8" Rise, 4" Drop # EQ90-02-4800 to go with it**
I am a fan of the Equal-i-zer systems as they tend to have the best tongue weight ranges and they do a very good job with getting rid of sway issues. The # EQ37100ET comes with a 2" shank and can be used with an adapter that reduces your 2-1/2" hitch down to a 2" (your truck should have come with one of these). However, if you wanted a dedicated 2-1/2" shank, you will want to go with the # EQ37101ET (which does not include a shank) and the # EQ90-02-4800 to go along with it.
I did see you were looking at the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control for 2.5" Hitch - 16K GTW, 1.6K TW # BW28FR as well. This would also work with your tongue weight and comes with a 2-1/2" shank, so that part is good. The only downside with these is the sway control part. They do a very good job of the weight distribution aspect, but they don't have as much sway control as the Equal-i-zer systems do. If sway isn't really affecting your set up, it's definitely an good option. If you are getting sway though, go with the Equal-i-zer.
Where are you typically towing your camper?
