Replacement 5-3/4"W x 2"T Equalizer

Updated 10/01/2026 | Published 09/30/2026

Question:

My current configuration is: 31” wheelbase, 55” frame hanger spread, 24” leaf springs over slung. The factory equalizer is 5.75” center to center, and 2” height center to center from hanger bolt. Will the LC53CK work for this setup?

Hey Gregg!

The Lippert Road Armor Equalizer Kit # LC53CK would not be a good match for your current suspension geometry. Your factory equalizer measures 5-3/4" center-to-center across the lower bolt holes and 2" from the center hanger bolt down to the lower bolt holes. The # LC53CK is about 6" wide and 3-1/4" tall, so that extra height would change your suspension geometry and shackle angle too much for me to recommend it as a replacement.

A much better option for your setup would be the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00. Its equalizers measure 5-3/4" across the lower bolt holes and 2" tall, which matches your factory equalizer dimensions almost exactly.

The # K71-652-00 also comes with 2-1/4" long shackles measured center-to-center, so I would just recommend checking your existing shackle length to make sure that matches as well. Your 31" axle spacing is a little tighter than the typical 33" application, but since your equalizer dimensions match the Dexter kit, I wouldn't rule it out based on that measurement alone.

Are you looking to upgrade your suspension or are you replacing a worn or damaged piece?

Thanks Jerry I am looking to upgrade a 10 yr old factory setup. I don’t see any signs of wear but don’t want to want until it’s too late I did chat with Lippert and they said the 2024115689 would work, but not sure if I trust the person providing the info. It this part number the same as the LC53CK

@Gregg Yes, the 2024115689 and the # LC53CK are the same part. We just label them differently for our warehousing purposes. That said, I don't know if I trust that information either since the sizes of the equalizers are vastly different. Instead of having to replace multiple facets of your suspension with guesswork, I'd prefer going with a same-size replacement just to be safe.
