Suspension Setup Recommendation for a Camper Trailer that Will be Taken Offroad

Question:

I have a camper trailer that has semi off road suspension, Id like to covert this to a full off road capability, its current configuration is a pin at the front and what I believe is called a slipper at the rear of the leaf springs the spring is mounted in a steel frame the shape of a square u Im considering putting a shakle on the front, pin on the rear and swapping out the leaf springs to suit. Am I heading in the right direction? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Leaf springs aren't any more designed for off-road use than slipper springs. What I would recommend is a Timbren axle-less system as they offer the best ground clearance since they do not have an axle that runs across the trailer.

I attached a page that has all of the Timbren systems we offer for you to check out. You will want to pick out the system with enough capacity for the weight of your trailer and the same bolt pattern as your trailer wheels. For even more ground clearance some of the kits have drop spindles.
