Expert Reply:
Welcome back Scott. 8,000 lbs is the working load limit or capacity of the Roadmaster 16" Safety Cable Extension item # RM-650648-16 when it's used as a pair. The item # RM-650648-16 only includes a single 16" safety cable so you'll need to pick up two.
The Roadmaster 16" Safety Cable Extension item # RM-650648-16 provides an extra 16" of reach for towing systems using high low adapters or hitch extenders. It's made from rust resistant, aircraft grade galvanized wire rope, which is then covered in a protective vinyl coating.
