Good Quality Retractable Tonneau Cover For 2026 F150 Short Bed With Spray In Bed Liner
Published 09/24/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2026 F-150 with the factory spray-in bed liner. Will this work as an upgrade? And do I have to drill holes for the drain tubes, and how well does this actually keep luggage dry?

Hey Marucs. I think you'll really like the new etrailer retractable tonneu cover # e23YV for your F150 short bed.
The cover itself clamps to the bed rails, so you aren’t drilling the truck to mount it. It will work just fine with spray in liner in your 26 F150 with the 5-1/2' bed.
The drain tubes do need somewhere to exit, though, and depending on your F-150 and bed liner you may need to open up or slightly modify an existing drain location. A coworker of mine said he opted to not drill or enlarge holes and just didn't hook the drain tube up, and no water really gets in anywhere to worry about it. As far as water goes, it does a very good job in normal rain, but I wouldn’t call any tonneau completely waterproof - high-pressure car washes can still force some water in.
Do you currently have a bed cover on the truck? If so, how does it do in the water department?
