Question:

I need a redarc tow pro liberty. do i need the redarc diode to work with the collision avoidance system and adaptive cruise control? Where does it get wired in? are the four trailer package wires already connected to the 3rd brake light?

Hey Ken. For your 2023 Ford Ranger, you'll just need the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness item # RED52VR. You do not need any additional diodes for the collision avoidance system or the adaptive cruise control. This kit comes with the universal wiring harness you'll need to complete the installation.

The universal harness that comes with the Tow-Pro Liberty item # RED52VR is going to splice directly into the factory wiring bundle that is located behind the hood release latch on the bottom left hand side of your dash. I linked an installation video below that will show you where to find it and how to match up the functions of the factor harness to the included Redarc universal harness. You'll want to skip ahead to the 5:24 mark.

The four wires on your Ranger are not going to be connected to the third brake light. That's a requirement for Australian vehicles not North American ones. Redarc is an Australian based company for context.

thank you that is where the confusion came from (down under). I will be pulling a homemade tilt bed open car trailer. 18' bed 22' over all 8' wide. trailer is about 1600#
