2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid Brake Controller Wiring Connection

Updated 09/12/2026 | Published 09/07/2026

Question:

I am installing a Redarc Tow-Pr0 Liberty brake controller with the universal wiring kit on my 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid AWD. My vehicle has the connector for standard trailer lights but does not have independent brake and turn signal connections. Your online video shows tapping into a large green wire in the brake switch wiring bundle, my van does not have that wire. Perhaps your video is for a standard Sienna, not the hybrid? Any help you can give me with locating a connection point for the braking signal on my van would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Warren! You’re right that the wiring shown in some of the older Sienna videos can be different from what you’ll find on your 2025 Sienna Hybrid. The brake signal wire you’re looking for is commonly the light blue wire at the brake pedal switch, but I would definitely test it before making any connections since wire colors can vary. With the vehicle off and a circuit tester connected to a good ground, the wire should show power when you press the brake pedal and no power when the pedal is released.

You’ll want to look under the driver side dash near the brake pedal and locate the brake pedal switch and its wiring connector. I know it can be frustrating when the wire shown in an installation video simply isn’t there, especially when you’re trying to get everything wired correctly on a newer hybrid.

What do you plan to tow once you get the brake controller setup?
