Can I Install Your etrailer Slide Topper Myself On A KZ Confluence 18RB?

Question:
Im buying a 2027 kz confluence 18rb headwaters edition bretz rv told me $1100 for parts an installation i cant afford that so I was wondering how easy it is if I buy this slide topper an installed it myself was also curious when I put brackets on do the screws need anything so it doesnt leak in the area I put new holes please let me know thank you

Hello Richard,
Congratulations on the KZ Confluence 18RB! That is a really nice camper, and I like that KZ packed quite a bit into an 18-foot floorplan while still giving you a slide for some extra room inside.
Yes, installing the etrailer RV Slide-Out Topper # e49QV is definitely something you can do yourself if you are comfortable with basic tools and drilling into the side of your camper. I would plan on having a second person help you. The installation itself is not overly complicated, but having another set of hands makes getting the topper into place and keeping everything lined up much easier.
You are also thinking about the right thing with those screw holes. You absolutely want to seal anywhere you are putting a new hole through the exterior of the camper. The # e49QV comes with butyl tape that goes behind the mounting brackets. As you tighten the brackets down, the butyl tape compresses and seals around those mounting points to help keep water from getting behind them. I attached an install video my buddy Kevin put together.
Before you order the 84-inch # e49QV, I do want to make sure we have the right size for your slide. Measure from the outside edge of one slide flange to the outside edge of the other and send me that measurement. I can make sure you get the right topper before you order anything. I attached an image showing exactly where to measure.
