Can Gen-y Phantom be Used as Hi Lo Adapter

Question:
Can this be used as a hi-lo adapter by leaving out the ball platform? I need to lower my cargo tray to open my van doors but I dont want the tray sitting an additional 6inch behind the vehicle as with other adapters.

Hey Sharon, yes you could use the Gen-Y Phantom Ball Mount part # GY37WR as a high low adapter if you needed to. You could remove the ball mount platform and use the openings as basically an additional hitch opening like you are wanting to do.

I used the hitch for a hi and low mount on the back of my RV to mount a e-bike bike rack above the tow bar for my towed car. I did not use the included ball since both the bike rack and tow bar for the vehicle fit into the 2” receivers on the Gen-Y phantom. I really like the fact that it keeps the bike rack closer to the RV to help minimize bounce effect of the bikes compared to other mounts.
