Electric Trailer Jack Upgrade for a 20 Foot Cargo Trailer

Question:

I currently have a 20 ft cargo trailer that has a manual jack on and I would like to convert over to an electric jack or one that I can operate with a drill. I have a picture of the one I currently have and would like help with finding a compatible jack.

Hi Larry, If your 20 foot cargo trailer uses a standard A frame jack, I would go with the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack, part # e22QV. It gives you push button operation with 3,500 lbs of lifting capacity and 18 inches of lift, so you can finally retire that hand crank. It also plugs into your tow vehicle’s 7 way for power, which keeps the electrical side pretty simple.

Before ordering, I’d just want to confirm from your picture that you have an A frame style mounting location and that there’s enough clearance around the jack. If your current jack is mounted to the side of the trailer frame instead, let me know and I can point you toward a better option for that setup.
