Replacement for Furrion 50A MPPT Solar Charge Controller on 2023 Grand Design Reflection 337

Question:

Hi I have a 2023 Grand Design Reflections 337 with a solar setup which includes a Furrion MPPT 50A solar charger. I am running a Battleborn 100ah Lithium battery. I believe my MPPT is bad as it keeps jumping from Lithium to flooded each night, I reset and does the same. I am looking for a solar charger that will be a direct replacement, there are 4 wires plus ground on mine. Do you have a recommendation? Thank you Gary

Hey Gary, welcome back! It definitely sounds like there is an issue with your Furrion controller. If it's switching from the lithium battery profile back to flooded on its own each night, I think it is best to go ahead and replace it before you run into additional issues.

The Victron BlueSolar # VN39ZR you were looking at is a great replacement. It's a 50A MPPT controller that's compatible with your Battle Born battery and will work well with the factory solar setup on your 2023 Grand Design Reflection 337.

The housing and terminal layout are a little different, but it uses the same type of solar and battery connections, so you'll simply transfer your existing wiring over to the new controller for installation. This should get you up and running again before you head to the Grand Design Owners National Rally.

Hi Robin; Thank you very much, I am waiting on Lippert support to see if they have a "fix" but thinking I will have to simply replace the unit. All good here so far. Thank you again. Gary
