Question:
Good afternoon. I recently purchased a 2nd truck with a 2-1/2" receiver and have quite a few 2" ball mounts that I don't want to replace. Can I use your anti rattle device and reducer for towing? Or are these just for bike racks and stuff like that? Thanks

You sure can Steve and congrats on the new truck! Our etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2.5" Hitch Receivers item # e55YV will indeed work with 2" ball mounts. It is not just for bike racks or cargo carriers but can of course be used with those as well.
Our etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar item # e55YV is designed to wrap around the collar on your new truck's 2-1/2" receiver. It'll ensure there's no shank movement inside the receiver. The 2-1/2" - 2" reducer sleeve will allow you to reuse your 2" ball mounts without sacrificing any of their capacity.
What kind of trailer are you pulling and what kind of new truck did you get? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

Thank you! I pull around a utility trailer with a lawn mower on it. I may upgrade down the road but for now I'd rather just use the ball mounts I have. I got a new to me 2024 Ram 2500. I wanted one of the brand new ones on the lot but I couldn't pass up the deal I got.
