What Towing Mirrors Won't Block the Cameras on My Sideview Mirrors?

Hi Fred,

It's likely that the CIPA Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors - Clip On Part # 11953-2 would at least partially block the cameras on the side mirrors of your 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz. The cameras are on the underside of the mirror's housing, and the lower straps and frame of the CIPA mirror cover most of the underside of the vehicle's side mirror in order to secure the towing mirror. There currently aren't any custom mirrors for the 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz so the universal options will slightly impede the camera's view because of how they attach to the side mirror.

If you're really in need of towing mirrors and don't mind a little extra work for installation, you can try out the CIPA Universal Deluxe Door-Mount Mirrors Part # 11650-2. These universal mirrors use rubber hooks and straps to secure to the top and bottom of the door and extend the mirror out from your side view mirror without attaching to the vehicle mirror housing. The straps will need to be checked for tightness during stops when towing to make sure the mirrors are secure, but it's a great alternative to maintain use of your cameras and still have towing mirrors.

What are you planning on towing with your 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

A 2026 NuCamp Tab 320 Lite. Unfortunately the Santa Cruz didn’t come with a trailer module, from what I read 25-26 they didn’t install them. Dealer only item, parts, $260 labor $400. We might not need mirror extensions, I can see down both sides of the camper with the existing. Thank You!

@FredH By trailer module do you mean that the Santa Cruz didn't come with trailer wiring? We do have a trailering wiring harness that has plugs custom to fit your Santa Cruz's plugs behind the taillights part # C93DQ. That will give you a 4-flat to run trailer lights, but the 2026 NuCamp Tab 320 Lite comes with trailer brakes, so you'll also need a Universal Brake Controller Installation kit part # ETBC7 to get a 7-way installed that will run the brake signal and power back to the 7-way so you trailer brakes at the same time as the vehicle. You'll also need a brake controller so you can control the braking power and have a manual stop in case of emergencies. I'd suggest using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake controller part # RED52VR, it's a small knob that will install into the dash and uses its own universal mounting panel part # 331-TPSI-001, so it looks like it's from the factory. Not sure if you've already got all the stuff from the dealer but thought I'd list out all the parts for you just in case!

@ClaireH We had a Curt hitch and wiring installed. Purchased a Curt Echo controller. What is missing plugs into a harness at the back of the fuse panel under the dash. 25-26 Santa Cruz it is hit or miss if it was factory installed. Ours unfortunately was miss.

@Fred Some vehicle's do require an OEM harness to activate or complete the trailer wiring, which is a bummer if the vehicle doesn't come with one. Once you can get that harness it sounds like you're all set up to start towing!
