Recommended Brake Controller for a 2013 Fleetwood Discovery 40X RV

This controller states that it fits my 2013 Fleetwood Discovery 40X RV. Does that mean that the harness will plug and play with another harness under the dash, or does this need to be hardwired or spliced to specific wires under the dash?

Hey Scott. The Curt Venturer NEXT Trailer Brake Controller w/ Plug-In Harness item # C99PQ does not include a plug and play wiring harness. The brake controller comes with a universal harness that can be hardwired into your motorhome's electrical system. I wouldn't recommend this option because it's time delayed.
Instead, I recommend the Curt TriFlex NEXT Trailer Brake Controller w/ Plug-In Harness item # C67PQ. This is a proportional brake controller that's going to slow or stop your trailer with the same amount of force you're applying to your Fleetwood's brakes. It also includes a universal harness.
I attached a diagram below that will show you how to get the wiring harness installed. You'll need a circuit tester like item # PTW2992 to find the cold side of the stoplight switch on your Fleetwood's brake pedal.
