Before I order, I'm wondering if a tankless water heater actually saves propane compared to my old 6 gallon water heater.

Hey Kevin! Since the Girard Tankless RV Water Heater # GI65VR only heats water when you open a hot water faucet, it isn't repeatedly reheating a storage tank throughout the day. Girard states this design can use about half the LP gas of a traditional 6-gallon tank water heater under similar conditions.
