Can etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar Stay Installed Year-Round?

Question:

I tow our camper almost every weekend from spring through the fall. Is it okay to leave the anti-rattle collar installed all season, or should I take it off between trips? What about in the winter?

Hey Nicole! I'd probably leave it installed too if I was towing that often. Our etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar #e55YV is built for exterior use and can stay on the receiver between trips. I'd just give the hardware a quick look every once in a while and snug it back down if needed. If you have really harsh winters, and aren't towing often, I'd probably pull it in the winter since road salt is the enemy to all things metal.
