2027 Jeep Wrangler Complete Roadmaster Flat Tow Setup

Updated 08/10/2026 | Published 07/26/2026

Question:

We're getting a new 2027 Jeep Wrangler and I need a full set of parts to flat tow it behind our motorhome. I do prefer a portable brake system, and I've heard good things about Roadmaster stuff so if we can stick with that for the most part it would be great. Can you help me out here?

Hey Ethan, congratulations on the new Jeep! I can definitely help you out. For a complete setup you will need a tow bar, base plate, safety chains, wiring, and then your portable brake system. For a Roadmaster setup I recommend the following:

-Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5

-Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar # RM27NQ

-Roadmaster Tow Bar Cover # RM-055-3 (optional)

-Roadmaster 80" Hybrid Coiled-to-Straight Safety Cables # RM-674

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267 (If you DO NOT have ParkSense)

Or

-Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM63MR (If you DO have ParkSense)

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25

-Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System # BLU37TR

-Blue Ox 12 Volt Power Outlet Kit # BLU33QV

Roadmaster really does make great, reliable parts for flat towing. However, for the brake system I do recommend going with the Blue Ox Patriot. It is tough to beat when it comes to a portable system. The 2027 Wrangler doesn't have a 12V outlet so you will need that as well to power the Patriot.

More than likely you will also need a high-low adapter like the etrailer # e52ZV to keep your setup level. I recommend measuring to find the right adapter. I attached an article further down on this page which explains how to measure and choose the right adapter.

Where are you headed first once you get the Wrangler all set up?

Loved the look of the Roadmaster baseplate, nearly hidden (unlike others) and works very well. several snowbird trips to FL and never a problem.

We have had good success with the Roadmaster direct-connect kit. It was professionally installed and we've used it now for about two years. Very easy connection and disconnect with the Roadmaster system. Very happy with our purchase.

Having a flat tow setup that's quick and easy to connect and disconnect makes a big difference when you're traveling, especially after you've done it a few dozen times. Thanks for sharing your experience after two years of use!

The purchase was easy and the Roadmaster directions were great, just follow them closely, hooking up was actually straightforward, they give you a list of what tools and sizes of wrenches etc so that's helpful. I was also impressed with the fact that they gave you real time advice if I had any questions I knew I could call them. This was my third purchase and second installation. Thanks, Guy

@GuyM thanks for sticking with us for three purchases! It sounds like having the tool and wrench sizes laid out ahead of time made that second installation go a lot smoother. And absolutely, if you ever run into a question during an install, we're always happy to help you work through it. Thanks for sharing your experience!
