Question:

I use a hitch extender every now and then so my tailgate clears my cargo carrier. Can I install the e55YV with the extender, or is it only meant to be used with a ball mount?

Hey Matt! You can absolutely use it with a hitch extender. Our etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e55YV will tighten the connection between the receiver and the extender just like it would with a ball mount or cargo carrier. Just keep in mind the fact that most hitch extenders reduce your hitch's towing and tongue weight capacities by 50%.
