Question:

Hi what are the longest roof rack cross bars available for a 2002 Toyota Sequoia? I am looking to carry Thule’s largest roof box and the Thule SUP Taxi rack side by side. I can forward pictures for reference. Thank you for your time. Ray

I'd be happy to help, Ray! If your 2002 Toyota Sequoia has factory raised side rails that run from front to back like in the photo I attached , the longest crossbars are the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack, Part # MAL24AR. They have 65 inch long crossbars. I actually use a Malone Rack myself and it works well for me.

The one thing to keep in mind is the width of the accessories. The largest Thule roof box we carry is the Thule Motion 3, Part # TH39PN, and it's about 36 3/16 inches wide. The Thule SUP Taxi XT, Part # TH810001, takes up about 34 inches of crossbar space. Together, they're wider than the available space on the 65 inch crossbars, so they won't fit side by side. If you're open to a smaller cargo box, the Thule Force 3 Sport, Part # TH77SA, is the largest box that will fit alongside the SUP Taxi.

If your Sequoia doesn't have the factory raised side rails, just let me know and we can look at a different roof rack option because those are much shorter.

By the way, which Thule roof box are you planning to use, and how many paddleboards do you usually carry at the same time?

Hi Heather! Thank you very much for taking the time to research my question, appreciate it! Yes, my 2002 Toyota Sequoia has the factory raised side rails that run from front to back and the Thule Box that I currently have and use is the Motion XT XXL. I will keep the dimensions in mind going forward if I decide to get another box and I want to have accessories side by side. Now I know to go with the Malone Air Flow 2 Roof Rack Aero Cross Bars.

@RayP You're very welcome, Ray! I'm glad we could narrow it down. I think you'll be really happy with the Malone AirFlow2 crossbars. If you ever decide to change out that box in the future, let me know. It sounds like you are going on quite the adventure though. Where are you going if you dont mind my asking?
