Is there a bearing buddy that is for a 1.97 hub? I have tried both 1.96 and 1.98 and neither one will fit

Hi Kevin,
I can definitely understand the frustration after trying two different sizes. Bearing Buddy doesn't make a model specifically for a 1.97 inch hub bore, so I'm actually a little surprised the Bearing Buddy # BB1968SS didn't work. It's designed for a 1.968 inch hub bore, which is about as close as it gets. In some cases, because it's a press fit, it takes a small block of wood and a hammer or rubber mallet to tap it evenly into place. You don't want to hit the Bearing Buddy directly with a hammer, but using a piece of wood helps spread the force and keeps the cap from getting damaged.
Before trying another size, I'd want to make sure we're matching the correct Bearing Buddy to your hub. The # BB1968SS is designed for hubs that use outer bearing models M12649 or 07100, along with outer bearing races M12610 or 07196.
If your hub instead uses outer bearings L44643, L44649, or L44640 with an L44610 race, then the correct Bearing Buddy would be # BB84SR.

The 1.968 one was too small. I ended up using a 1.98 size and had to POUND it in with a sledge hammer
