Can I Replace A Coleman Mach AC With Furrion Chill Cube Variable Speed FR27TQ
Updated 07/09/2026 | Published 07/01/2026 >
Question:
Will be replacing an OEM MACH 10-15 HP and want to go with the Furrion variable speed FR27TQ- I think? Ducted system with HP and separate wall gas furnace. The existing is all controlled by the BMPRO module. Thinking with very little wiring info available it would take reinventing the wheel to either reprogram the BMPRO or figure out or what existing wiring changes or outputs to use. I am OK abandoning that function and just using your wall stat. I am good with controls if even an option. Really want to get all the cooling I can is main reason for the 18K capacity. Thanks

Hey Emmet, thanks for reaching out. Sounds like you're on the right track here. You can replace your Coleman Mach 10-15 HP with the Furrion Chill Cube Variable Speed RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump # FR27TQ, but it won't integrate with the BMPRO control module. The Chill Cube uses its own control system, so you'll need to install the included air distribution box and wall thermostat and bypass the existing BMPRO controls for the A/C.
The Chill Cube thermostat is capable of controlling a furnace, so in most cases you can simply move the furnace control wires over to the new thermostat and have both the A/C and furnace controlled from one wall stat.
If your main goal is maximum cooling, the 18,000 BTU Chill Cube is a solid upgrade over the Mach 10-15. The variable-speed compressor ramps up and down instead of cycling hard on and off, which keeps the RV more comfortable, runs quieter, and is much more efficient than a traditional single-speed unit.
What RV are you working with? Do you camp in a lot of warmer climates?

I bought a 18k cube and replaced a 13.5. There is a great improvement on keeping the motor home livable during the upper 90’s days.

2020 Thor Gemini. 25ft long. Laid off of hot location lately mainly because AC runs 100% and still 78-80f inside if 90f plus outside. Variable running 100% OK. Need that extra 3000K BTUs
