Will etrailer Hard Tonneau e45DR Fit With A 5th Wheel Hitch In A 2025 Chevy 2500 HD Crew Cab

Updated 07/01/2026 | Published 06/29/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Chevrolet 2500 HD crew cab with standard bed. I would like to know how wide or deep I guess the panel behind the back window is so that I’m sure it will clear the Demco 18 K auto slide hitch.

Hey Greg, thanks for reaching out. For the etrailer Hard Tonneau Cover # e45DR on a 2025 Chevy 2500 with a standard bed, the rear panel will stick out approximately 22" from behind the cab. It's hard to say for sure if that will clear your 5th wheel hitch or not, but a lot of times with these standard bed trucks we do run into clearance issues with the hard folding tonneau covers.

A better option would be the BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK226133 since the rear panel can fold up all the way against the cab. That way there would be no concern of clearance issues.

What 5th wheel are you towing? Do you usually keep the hitch in the bed between outings?

I have a 2024 Silverado 2500 with a standard bed (6 3/4 feet) and I have that exact tonneau cover. I also have a Gen Y hitch on my 5th wheel with a B&W offset ball. I can leave my tonneau cover on (folded, of course) with no problems. When folded, the distance from the back glass is 25” and from the back of the tailgate the distance is approximately 5 feet. Hope this helps!

I have a 2022 Sierra 2500 Denali with a B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch with Slider 18,000 lbs. The distance between bed of truck to bottom of cover panel is 21". The distance from the front of the bed to the end of the retracted panels is 24". There is ample space between panels and the hitch including all the locking mechanism. The cover can be closed with nearly 4" to the top of the hitch.
