Question:
I have the ford pen pick system for my Gen Y hitch. I am buying a Ram 2024 short bed dually. Do I need to buy the entire Ram OEM puck version or do you offer a change over kit to adapt my ford version? Do you take trade ins? Gently used for 3 short trips. ??

Hi Alex,
Darn, there isn't a conversion kit available to change a Gen-Y hitch part # GY83XR from the Ford OEM puck system to the Ram OEM puck system. The Ford and Ram puck layouts use different dimensions and attachment points, so you'll need the Ram-specific version, part # GY83XR, for your 2024 Ram short bed dually.
I know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, especially since your current hitch has only seen a few trips, but the mounting feet are built specifically for each manufacturer's puck system and aren't designed to be swapped over. We also do not offer trade-ins on used hitches.
One question I do have is whether you were using the Gen-Y specifically for its offset ball position. If you don't need the offset ball, a simpler option like the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2062 for the Ram OEM puck system could save you some money while still giving you a solid towing setup.
What type of gooseneck trailer do you have?

We have the 2021 Ram 3500 with the standard bed. The Gen Y offset system works perfectly for our 5th wheel. Previously had a Tundra. Now that was a true short bed.
