Recommended RV AC Unit for 2001 R Vision Condor

Question:

I have a 2001 R Vision Condor, I have a Duo-Term 15000 BTU AC ducted unit that does not work. Model No. 59516.531, Product No. 991731786. I need to replace it. My thermostat controls the AC and Heat. What will work, do I need more than just the AC Unit? Distribution box?

Hey Donna, you would have to replace the entire setup as there was a refrigerant law change in January of 2025 that forced the complete systems to have to be redesigned and because of that nothing is currently backwards compatible. So what I would recommend is a Furrion Chill Variable Speed part # FR97TQ which comes with everything needed to install from the thermostat do the lower air box. This is widely considered the quietest, most cold, and lowest power drawing RV AC unit out there so you'll really like it! The remote also doubles as the thermostat sensor as well if you want it to.

Will the remote thermostat control my furnace as well?

@DonnaC It would in theory but the only downside to the Chill Cube is that it's not super reliable controlling furnaces yet but we've been told an update is coming to help with that.
