Question:
Have a question about extender. Your part TLE1636 Currently have a 2026 Ford F-350 crew cab Platinum Plus with Tremor package. Trailer is an aluminum 16 v-nose enclosed trailer. Weights 2300 lbs. empty. With gear and side by side roughly 5800-6000 lbs. It says max weight with 7200 lbs with weight distribution. What does weight distribution consist of? Thanks

Hey Steve, so a weight distribution system is a component that installs between the truck's hitch and the front of the trailer frame that offers additional support right at that connection point between the two. It's kind of hard to describe in a simple way but it basically moves some of the trailer tongue weight up to the front axle of the tow vehicle.
So the issue I can foresee with your setup is that most aluminum trailer manufacturers do not allow you to use weight distribution with them as they put additional stress on the softer metal. So I would recommend checking with your trailer manufacturer to see if they would be okay with it or not as you would need it to be able to use the part # TLE1636.
To see an example of a weight distribution system check out the Equal-i-zer part # EQ37100ET.
Do you need an extender because you have a truck bed camper?

Good morning Steve. I have not pulled anything with the hitch at this point I’m using it mainly for a support for my rear step on my camper. I will say it’s very well made and I appreciate having it on my set up. Thank you, Jeff.
