Hi April,

The etrailer Electric Jack w/7-way part # e22QV is a sealed unit and doesn't require grease or internal lubrication. If the motor on your jack is running rough, there are a few things we can check to see if that improves it. I would check that the jack is getting a full 12V from the 7-way's black wire using a circuit tester and that the vehicle's 7-way has a good ground. If it is grounded to the frame on top of the paint, the poor ground can cause inconsistent motor operation (rough sounds). The etrailer Electric Jack w/7-way part # e22QV is rated for 3,500lbs, if this is being exceeded or if the jack is operating near this capacity the motor may sound louder. If the jack is on uneven ground or is twisted slightly this can also cause the motor to struggle.

Has the jack's motor always made this noise? Or is this a more recent development?
