Hi Dale, yes, we do have a replacement that will work for your older 2009 Yakima HoldUp, the correct part you’ll want is the Replacement Tilt Pull Pin part # Y39FR. The newer spring pin part # 8880582 is for HoldUp racks made after 2016, so it wouldn’t be the right fit for your model.

This pin is what locks the rack in the upright position and is removed when you want to tilt it down, so replacing it should get your rack back to feeling solid and secure again. I know it’s frustrating when a small part like that fails, especially on an older rack, but this is a direct fit for that earlier generation so you shouldn’t have to worry about it not lining up or working properly.

If the pin that broke on yours was serving a different function, just let me know and I can make sure we’re looking at the right piece, but based on what you described this should be the one you need.

What kind of bikes are you usually carrying on the rack, more mountain or road style?
