Looking For Replacement AC Unit For Camper With No Ceiling Vents
Published 05/07/2026 >
Question:
I’m replacing the AC on my camper and honestly I’m not sure what to get. I don’t have ceiling vents, and I’d rather have something complete so I’m not chasing extra parts. What would you recommend?

Hey Rosa! Since your camper does not have ceiling vents and you want a complete setup, I’d look at the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus # GE34RR. It’s a complete ductless 15,000 Btu system, so it includes the rooftop unit, air distribution box, thermostat, and controls.
That complete-system route is really the best way to go on a replacement like this now. With the newer R32 refrigerant change, just swapping the rooftop unit onto an older ceiling assembly or control setup usually isn’t doable anymore, so starting with a matched kit helps avoid compatibility headaches.
The other nice thing with # GE34RR is that it has a built-in heat pump, so you get electric heat for cool mornings when you’re plugged into shore power. Just keep in mind this is the ductless setup, so it’s made for direct airflow from the ceiling assembly instead of running through ceiling ducts. What AC system is on the camper now, Rosa?
