Roof Vent Cover Recommendation for Fan-Tastic Roof Vent on 2018 Tiffin Phaeton

Question:

Hello, I am looking for a roof vent covers for my fantastic fans that are installed on a 2018 Tiffin Phaeton. These fans are operated by the Spyder Control system in the coach which gives me two options. One is completely opens an the other is completely closed. When the fan cover is completely open it stands 11 3/4” high. Is there a vent cover available that will accommodate that by chance?

Hey Robert, the vent cover you'd want is the Dometic FanTastic Ultra Breeze Trailer Roof Vent Cover # DMC38FR that you referenced as this was designed to work with Fan-Tastic RV roof vents like what you have. While this won't allow the vent to open all the way the lid will stop once it hits the vent cover and there won't be any issues with that. Also, with the vent open only partially it will still flow the full amount of air.

Hi Robert, I installed the Dometic cover over my Fantastic fan. It is true, the fan can not open completely and I also noticed a slight difference in the sound of the fan as it tries to push air through a reduced opening. That being said, I’m very happy with the Dometic cover and I’m able to leave my vents open without fear of rain getting inside. I would purchase again.

Robert, I installed these on my 2015 Newmar Dutch Star 4369, on all three vents. Absolutely love them and would recommend them. No more worrying about if it rains or when you’re traveling. Easy install

Hi Robert Installed 3 of these on my Allegro Bus also purchased the fine screen to go inside the exhaust grill to try and keep bugs out. No problem with air flow regardless of fan speed. No water if left open during heavy rain. Also allow you to have the vent open while traveling down the road. Hardware that comes with it makes it easy to remove and clean the cover and the fan lid.
