How do you mount CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers with a frame larger than 5 1/4"?

Question:

I have a Venture VATB 4225 aluminum trailer with 3 x 5 1/2 inch I beam supports. What would the mounting options be? It doesnt appear that the larger u-bolts will even fit. Thanks very much,.

Thanks for reaching out Paul, you've asked something that I'm sure many others would like to know.

You’re correct, the standard and even larger U-bolts won’t work well with your Venture trailer’s 3" x 5-1/2" aluminum I-beam. They’re simply not designed to fit around a frame that tall.

CE Smith I-beam mounting kit # CE27682A is specifically designed for trailers like yours. Instead of wrapping around the entire frame like a U-bolt, it uses clamp brackets that attach to the top and bottom flanges of the I-beam.

What style of boat are you launching?
