In What Orientation do the Air Lift 100 Air Helper Springs Get Installed on a 2003 Chevy Suburban

Question:

I noticed in the pictures of this product that the bag was placed at the top of the coil spring, but the directions say for that model Avalanche that it should be at the bottom of the coil spring. So, was it installed wrong in the pictures?

When the suspension is under load it won't matter whether or not the air bag is in the top or the bottom of the spring. The pictures you are referring to are showing the air spring in the coil spring with the suspension unloaded and stretched out. Under normal circumstances with the truck on the ground the spring will be almost or actually touching on the top and bottom in the coil spring.

All that really matters is that you install the bag with the valve pointing up and protector on top as well. The instructions say to push the bag down so that you can get the line and protector on the top easier.

In the pictures the bags have a lot of pressure in them. If they were only slightly inflated they would fall down to the bottom of the coil spring as nothing holds them there.
