I have a Thule Crown 5200 TH 12V awning. Is this compatible with my awning? The manual shows tie downs are optional. I have attached a snip of the manual for reference.

It sure is Mary and thanks for that picture! I checked with Thule and their Hold Down Side Strap Kit item # TH307916 is exactly what you need for your Thule Crown 5200 awning.
The Hold Down Side Strap Kit item # TH307916 is designed to attach to the support legs of Thule awnings to provide stability and protect against wind damage. It'll look just like your picture and hopefully the one below when it's all setup. I can't guarantee the view but the item # TH307916 is exactly what you need.
