Features to know about

Keep the Rear End Level and Stable: 8,600-lb Suspension Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can make the back end sag and throw off steering. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 8,600 lbs of extra support above the rear axle to keep your truck level under load. The hollow Aeon rubber springs get more rigid as weight increases, so the squat disappears and the ride stays steady when hauling gear or pulling a 5th wheel.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Rubber Springs That Absorb Shock

Every bump and pothole can rattle a loaded suspension. These hollow rubber springs take the brunt of the impact, absorbing road shock before it hits the frame. The progressive design cushions light loads for a comfortable ride but firms up automatically as weight builds. The result is better control and less wear on your factory suspension.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When a gust or curve tries to shift your load, each spring reacts on its own side to keep things balanced. That side-to-side independence cuts down on body roll, sway, and bounce, so your truck feels planted through corners or when a semi blows past. It also helps manage uneven loads without upsetting handling.

Easy Bolt-On Install: No Drilling or Air Lines Required

Getting more stability doesn’t have to mean adding compressors or running hoses. This setup bolts onto existing frame points in place of the factory bump stops, using vehicle-specific brackets and included hardware. With no drilling required, it’s an easy upgrade that takes only basic tools to install and needs zero maintenance after it’s on.

Built for Heavy Work and the Long Haul: Durable Rubber Construction

The elastic rubber build gives these springs more travel than rigid alternatives, keeping the ride comfortable while handling serious weight. They work seamlessly with your factory suspension in good condition to prevent bottoming out, reduce strain on components, and extend suspension life—all while keeping your truck level every time you tow or haul.

8,600-lb Capacity. These hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle to help stabilize and level your vehicle. They also provide a more comfortable ride by absorbing road shock and improving roll stability. Easy to install and use.

by:

I installed them on my 2007 Dodge one ton pickup getting ready for a long road trip. I was pulling a 32’ fifth wheel camper weighing 10,000 pounds. The ride smoothed out and increased the stability of the pickup-trailer unit. Once the road trip was done, I removed the rubber load levelers as they made the pickup ride rougher.
Installation was easy and removing was very simple. I am glad I purchased them and can recommend them.

by:

The item was easy to install, functioned perfectly, and resolved the squat issue. I would recommend it over air bags.

by:

So just got them installed today 3/27/24 haven't hooked up the 5th wheel yet but will be this weekend so we'll find out if they are good as everyone claims they are fingers crossed. Install was crazy simple took about 30min(had to find a wrench) have about 1/2in gap between the axle, really excited to test them. Will update the review after this weekend.

by:

Easy install and very happy with perfor mance!

by:

They do not do not affect the truck when you are empty. But it does make it ride a little rougher When you are loaded, which is to be expected definitely make the truck feel more stable. Overall, good purchase and i would do it again

by:

They help out on ram 3500 single tire rear end. Improved ride when pulling 40 foot 5th wheel. Truck does not squat as much

by:

Fast shipping.. straight forward install. Looking forward to hauling equipment to test the out.

by:

Item fit my Ram 3500 perfectly. Thank you Matt at etrailer for your professional assistance.

by:

These work, helping with the overall stabilization of the red end especially when towing

Very good the rear suspension works much better when towing my 35 foot travel trailer, especially when the road is ruff, the rear trimbren suspension does not touch the axels until a heavy load is on the rear axles, which helps very much with ride and vibration from the road

by:

Timbren is expensive but have proven their worth so far. I have added another one of their products to my rig more improving its handling. I have run air bags in the past and these cushions far outperform that I will never go back. No maintenance and no hassle since I installed them. The were a slight challenge installing due to close tolerances and needed a medium well socket. My great friends at E-Trailer have also proven to be EXCELLENT, USA representatives that I continue to deal with and send many more customers their way.

by:

Installed on my 2007 Ram 3500 because I wanted basic leveling & stability under the load of my 5th wheel. I didn't want a complicated air bag system.

Summer trips in the mountains of MT & the Pacific NW. 3 months of snowbirding throughout southern AZ this winter. Very satisfied, so I just swapped them onto my new 2018 Ram 3500. I didn't let them go with my trade-in.

Just what I need, no effect when empty - engaged when I need them.

by:

Extremely easy to install, no change in ride while unloaded. Great sway support for my Lance truck camper

by:

I have used Timberns on 2 other vehicles, a Toyota 4Runner and an S10 Blazer with out complaint.

I transport RVs as a contractor for an RV transport company. My truck is 2021 Ram 3500 crew cab, 6.7 diesel.

Because the weight of the units is different with each unit I haul I wanted an easy, no maintenance solution to maintain as level a ride as possible. I haul both bumper pull and 5th wheel units. In addition to the weight of the unit I'm hauling I can carry 110 gallons of fuel with both the factory fuel tank and my auxiliary tank. Additionally, there is the weight of my Curt 25K 5th wheel hitch, Curt 14K equalizer hitch and bars, and approximately 300 pounds in tools.

I don't have to worry about airbags not inflating. The suspension settles about an inch before making contact with the Timberns. Squat while loaded is negligible. The ride empty is the same as it was before installation. The ride loaded is smooth and controlled even when hitting large bumps at highway speeds.

Installation was simple and straightforward. It took me about a half hour.

by:

Had to tap both brackets as bolts works not threading without jamming. Fit was perfect.

by:

Received my Timbrens very quickly, very well packaged. Installed them is less than 30 minutes. Have yet to hook my rv to the truck, but can see these are going to be really helpful. About 1" to my axle where my OEM bump stops were a good 7" As always etrailer rocks!! Look forward to dealing with these folks when the need arises again.

I am writing this shortly after completing the install so I am trying to tone it down a bit. Reviews of this product install suggested 20-30 minutes to complete. It took me about 90 minutes. My biggest initial concern was removing the factory bump stops. I soaked the bolts with liquid penetrant a few days before the install. The bolts came out easily. The bolts which attach the rubber spring to the bracket would not tighten completely. The nut is tack welded to the underside of the mounting plate. On both brackets, the nut was not centered on the hole and the tack weld deformed the nut. I had to chase the threads first to be able to install the bolt and complete tighten the rubber spring. One of the brackets was labeled left with an arrow pointing to the front. The left side terminology in the instructions could be more clear with driver side notation. Overall, this should have been an easy install. Product quality could be better. I am a bit concerned with proximity of the brake lines. I will have to seen what it looks like when loaded. Performance when loaded still to be evaluated.

I took a look at your photo and I can not tell if the spring is directly above the axle but if it is, the spring will hit the axle before it hits the brake line. There are elongated holes in the brackets that allow for some adjustment. The best thing you can do is move the spring as center over the axle as possible.

by:

Worked great to level out my truck while towing my 5th wheel.

by:

Cody at eTrailer is awesome! Timbren is awesome! The install took about 35 minutes (including beverage breaks) and the fit for my 2024 Ram 3500 was absolutely perfect!!!!!

by:

Amazing product! I'm so glad I have these. This is the second truck I put them on and it makes such a big difference. 2026 RAM 3500 dually, calling everything from a 18,000 lb living quarters to a bumper pull 4 horse trailer. These things should put air bags out of business.

by:

Perfect for my application. Completely killed the squat from the camper and trailer combo. Easiest install ever. 4 bolts and your done.

by:

Easy to install. No rubbing or squeaking sounds when I’m pulling our 37 foot fifth wheel. I love that they don’t need to be hooked to power, to run an air compressor and have airlines to airbags that could possibly fail. I love that you don’t need an app to use these.

by:

Hi Adam,

Thanks for reaching out
and sorry for late response. I just put the Timbrens on and install was super easy and will be taking our first trip with our 5th wheel this coming weekend. Delivery was also quicker than expected. The progressive nature of these do make the unloaded ride no different than stock, so I'm very much looking forward to this weekend. I've taken several trips with the stock set-up so very much wanting to feel the difference with these.

by:

etrailer came through! Delivery was on time even with spring snowfall slowing travel. Took me <30 min to install, very straight forward. Haven’t hitched the trailer yet to yet to see actual benefit, but I’m optimistic since the clearances are as advertised.

by:

These worked as advertised and helped the sway and roll of the truck and camper while driving. They also helped raise the rear of the truck from squatting past level due to the weight of the camper. A good and easy alternative to airbags, you just can’t adjust them like you can airbags.

I am glad to hear they helped with both the sway as well as the rear sag with the camper! Not adjustable like airbags but they do the trick. What kind of camper do you have?

by:

Easy install took about 20 minutes on my 2017 Ram 3500 SRW. Had about 1/2 inch clearance as recommended. Loaded up my 5th wheel (2350 hitch weight) and about 200 lbs of gear in the bed. Just got back from a 800 mile camping trip through mountains of TN. You can really feel the difference around those sharp corners and uneven surfaces. The truck felt firm and controlled not hard and jarring as some have mentioned. Going over those overpasses with the wonderfully smooth (Not) joists was greatly improved. The truck would squat and rebound again, with a firm controlled response. Driving without a load felt the same as before without them. I would highly recommend these! Ordering from etrailer continues to be my go to option!

Year Review: I have put about 5k towing miles on these since the install, who ever says you slow down after retirement doesn’t know my wife… and they are still performing great. Material has held up with no signs of cracking or excessive wear. Love the ride feel when going over rough roads and turns. Very happy with this purchase.

  • SumoSpring VS Timbren for 2017 Ram 3500 for Ride Quality and 5th Wheel Towing Support
Since you really want a good ride quality the SumoSpring Solo # SSR-312-54 is the way to go. This will give you the support you are wanting without making the ride quality harsh like the Timbrens do. Timbrens provide a lot of support but the ride quality (specifically unloaded) isn't great. The SumoSpring option is a much better balance between support and ride quality so it's what you'll be the most happy with.

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out! The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # T94VR is the best Timbren kit for your 2024 Ram 3500 because the other Timbren kit, part # TDR3500CA, is designed for standard use while the T94VR is the severe service kit that works better for heavier applications like salt spreaders and slide-in campers.
