Will Lend-a-Hand Mini fit existing Winnebago grab handle holes? Mounting pattern and install guide

Updated 04/22/2026 | Published 04/18/2026

Question:

Dimensions on mounting holes. Does it fit in The same holes as the assist handle on my Winnebago? There is no stud but what appears to be some metal backing plate.

Hi John, that’s a great question and I’m really glad you’re checking this before installing.

The Lend-a-Hand Mini part # SC25GR is designed to match the same mounting pattern as the standard Lend-a-Hand rails, like part # AM-800, which is a common full-size rail used on many Winnebago models. There is a good chance it will line up with your existing holes, but I wouldn’t call it a guaranteed match without confirming your current spacing.

This handrail uses a mounting pattern with holes spaced about 1-1/8 inch on center on the bracket, and it can be configured with either a 2-hole or 3-hole setup depending on orientation. The good news is the metal backing plate you’re seeing is exactly what you want in this situation. That plate is there to provide a solid mounting surface in place of a stud, so even if the holes don’t line up perfectly, you can still mount the rail by drilling new holes into that backing plate.

You can avoid any guesswork by taking a quick measurement before purchasing. If you measure the distance between your existing mounting holes from center to center, you can compare that to the 1-1/8 inch spacing on the Lend-a-Hand Mini. If those numbers line up closely, there’s a good chance you can reuse at least some of the holes and keep the install simple.

Where do you enjoy taking the Winnebago?
