Can You Run a 50 Amp RV on 30 Amp or 110 Power?

Question:
2025 grand design, when we camp at full hook ups there is 50 amp/30 amp service, and at home I only plug into 110, service. Can I step down with adapters and will it still be effective. I don’t think I need to buy a unit for each service correct????

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out. So an adapter like part # CAM55168 will physically let you plug in, but there’s a limitation to be aware of.
On a 50 amp RV, stepping down to 30 amp or 110 doesn’t give you full power. With a 50-30 adapter, you’ll still only be feeding part of the system, and with a 50-15 (house outlet), you’re down to very limited power. It’s fine for basics like lights or charging, but you won’t be able to run larger appliances or everything at once.
So yes, they’ll work, just expect reduced capability since you won't have full power.

Yes 100 percent I am aware of power limits. When I’m at home it is only to turn on fridge for 2 days prior to leaving, or empty fridge when I get home.. I just want to protect the coach when it’s plugged into 110 when I get home
