Replacement Disc Brakes for 2018 Load Rite Boat Trailer With TDE 660

Updated 04/13/2026 | Published 04/12/2026

Question:

I have a 2018 load rite dual axle boat trailer. Model LR-AB23T5200102LTB2. It has a tie down model 660 brake actuator. The hubs are 10” 5 x 4.5. I need to replace the disc brake kit and hubs/rotors and want to confirm the disc brake kit is the correct one to work with that 660 actuator. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hey Douglas, welcome back! The first thing you’ll want to do is confirm whether your trailer has drum or disc brakes right now by looking at the hub. The TDE 660 has both a drum and disc brake configuration so I'm sure it has the right master cylinder for your current setup.

If you already have disc brakes, then you can just replace the hubs/rotors and calipers with the Dexter Premier Disc Brake Kit # T2HRCM10DAC and everything will work as intended. If it’s a drum brake setup, the Model 660 isn't compatible with disc brakes so I recommend replacing it with the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout # DM62VR.

Where are you headed once you get the brakes replaced?
