Question:

I have a Shelby 5476, 2800 lbs winch. Since it is not available what options do you have that are comparable? I am have to send any pictures you may need. Thanks.

Hi Jay, great question and I know it’s frustrating when a good winch like your Shelby 5476 is no longer available, especially when you just want something that fits right and works the same without a bunch of guesswork.

The good news is we do have a very solid replacement that’s right in that range and will feel familiar in use. The 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch part # 315-W3200D is a great match for what you had. It’s rated at 3,200 lbs, which is just a step up from your 2,800 lb Shelby, and that extra capacity actually helps take some of the strain out of cranking rather than making it harder. It’s also a two-speed design, so you’ll still have that quicker gear to take up slack and a lower gear for heavier pulls, which keeps the operation very similar to what you’re used to.

Being in my mid eighties I don't have the strength that I used to have. I must say this winch makes it easy for me to get my 14 foot boat on the trailer, even on steep difficult ramps. I haven't needed to chance to the lower gear however.
