Looking For Way To Add Motor To A Square Jack On A 14,000 lb Dump Trailer

Updated 04/08/2026 | Published 04/02/2026

Question:

I have a 14,000 dump trailer with a square jack. I would like an electric jack or a motor to work on the jack I have. There is a battery on the trailer.

Hey Ken, thanks for reaching out. Right now we offer only one motor kit for a square jack, the Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit # BD1824180100. This is made specifically for the Bulldog 2-speed, planetary-gear jacks with 12,000-lb capacity. We'd need to verify exactly which jack you have to know if it will fit or not.

If you have a different jack, I'm sorry to say we don't have an option for adding a motor to your existing setup. The only way to get an electric option would be to use 5th wheel landing gears, like the Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set # UF17-943010, and weld them to the frame of the trailer. Adding them to a gooseneck trailer may require additional modification depending on how much room you have for the jack tube.

What kind of trailer do you have?

It is a Loadtrail trailer. Can I purchase just one of the jack for the 5th wheel set up?

@KenS I gotcha. Unfortunately, those jacks are only sold as a set. We don't offer them individually.

@KenS have you looked at their 12k hydraulic jacks? Would be money on your dump trailer. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jack/etrailer/e83VV.html?feed=npn&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=202880537&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0Pau8vfekwMVpNbCBB0E4Rh7EAQYBCABEgI_bvD_BwE
