Looking For Brake Controller For 2026 Toyota Hilux SR

Updated 04/08/2026 | Published 04/01/2026

Question:

I’m looking for a brake controller for a 2026 Toyota Hilux SR. I want one with a control knob that can be mounted on the dashboard, similar to the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite brake controller. Which models are compatible, and what would you recommend?

Hello Emmanuel, thanks for reaching out. Man I love those things - owning a Hilux is the dream. I hope they start selling them in the USA soon.

That said, there isn't a custom plug-in option for a Hulix brake controller, but as long as the vehicle has a factory 7-way, you can use the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. This comes with a universal 4-wire pigtail you can use the hardwire the controller. On trucks with a factory 7-way, the necessary brake controller wires should already be present under the dash.

You can mount the main unit behind the dash, then place the LED control knob on the dash in a location in a location of your choosing. This'll be your best option for a dash knob controller.

What will your Hilux tow most? Did you get one imported? I didn't think they were available in North America.

Works great with my 2024 KIA Telluride. Had it installed by the dealer so as not to void the warranty on the car. I have made several trips around the country towing my Lance 1575 travel trailer and the breaking system on the trailer works as advertised with the module interface. Safe travels!
