Hey Lori, thanks for reaching out!

The TorkLift Tie Downs # TL87DR are a custom-fit kit, so there’s no drilling required on the truck itself. Everything bolts up to existing holes in the frame, which helps keep the install pretty straightforward.

As far as timing goes, most installs typically take about 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on how familiar you are with this type of install. If you have an aftermarket hitch, this would affect the rear tie-downs. The hitch will need to have at least a 4" x 4" flat area on the side plates, and drilling into those plates may be required for proper installation. If this is the case for your truck, then this will affect the install time. Drilling into a hitch can be difficult.

Do you already have a camper picked out to pair with your F-350?

Lori, I installed the tie downs on the front and rear on my 2024 F350 dually. The fronts went on easily. The instructions were perfect. The little leaders attached to the bolts for inside the frame rails worked great. I had to send back the rear units because I didn't order the correct part because of the trailer hitch that came with the truck. With the correct part the install was easy. The bolts and the holes lined up exactly, no drilling required. Be sure to get the quick release hold downs because the fuel door ends up right behind the hold down. With the quick release fueling up is easy! I cannot guess on the time required. Just know it was easy...

@John Thanks for sharing your tips, John. You're totally right about the fuel door, it sits right where the turnbuckles are on the newer trucks. Not the best placement.

I found them easy to install. If I remember correctly the front pieces were the most time consuming but the rear only took minutes to install.

I installed them (front and back) by myself in about 1..5 hours. I am not mechanically inclined, but the instructions and videos were excellent. It would have gone much quicker if I had an assistant because the front mounts are pretty heavy, so I was balancing them on my chest, underneath the vehicle, while trying to get the bolts in.

@JohnM Thanks for sharing your install experience even though it doesn't sound like it was an easy one. When's the next trip with the camper?
