Question:

Is the Furrion FR29AD single zone controller the updated controller with the temperature sensor located in the thermostat? Also, does it connect to the electronic heat strip?

Hello Steven, thanks for reaching out. The # FR29AD single-zone controller is part of the newer style R32 system, but the main temperature sensor is still not in the wall thermostat. Furrion reads temperature from a sensor in the ceiling assembly (air distribution box), not the thermostat itself. Some thermostats have a small built-in sensor, but it’s usually only used for certain heat functions, not as the primary temp control.

As for the electronic heat strip, yes, it will work with that controller, but only if all components in the system are compatible. Furrion systems are picky, so the controller, thermostat, and AC unit all need to be matched correctly for the heat strip function to show up and operate properly.
