Hey Mike,
The B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount for 2.5" Hitch part # BWTS20037B, is now rated for up to 18,000 lbs. B&W updated the design a few years back, which is why you’re still seeing 14,500 lb ratings on some other sites and even on older units.
Because of that transition, you may still run into versions out in the wild that are stamped with the older 14,500 lb rating, and in those cases you’ll want to follow whatever is physically marked on the hitch itself. If it shows 18,000 lbs, you’re good to use that full capacity. If you purchase a new BWTS20037B it is rate for 18k. I totally get wanting a straight answer before you trust a setup with that kind of weight.
What are you planning to tow at that weight, work equipment or something fun like a big camper?

Mine is stamped 18k on the 2 5/16" ball. Been a great product so far, tried a few other brands / models but this one is stout, well built, and easy to adjust. Use it to switch between my camper and boat trailers.
